Like Peter

ok so this is my first blog so lets start off with a bang . i will be mostly talking about Jesus and the Bible. I am not educated in anything but the spirit. I dont have any diplomas or PHDs, i am just a man studying the Word through Gods spirit so you might disagree with me or see things from a different perspective.  however i do promise to not just say whatever just pops into my head without first prayer, then confirmation in the Word and third wise counsel.  i do firmly believe in the education of the spirit and my biases for that belief is Peter. In Acts 4:13 after the arrest of Peter and John by the Pharasis for preaching and performing miracles.  Peter and John are being questioned by the pharasis about there actions. Peter answers the pharasis with wisdom and confidence, the Pharasis are shocked at the knowledge of these two uneducated fishermen and are forced to recognize that they had been with Jesus and that the spirit of God was with them. We are all called to be educated by the spirit and become filled with all that God has for us.  God does not abandon us in tough situations by leaving us without understanding, we are able to have God speak to and through us. we all have the opprotunity with prayer and diligent study of the Word of God to be lights unto the world and to have as much wisdom and authority as anyone who has achieved a diploma in the subject.  I say achieved a diploma because of my respect for the people who pursue them. the desire to have a better understanding of anything is commendable especially if it is in the pursuit of a better understanding of God. however wisdom in the spirit cannot be obtained by simply filling our heads with facts and rehearsed data we have to seek it from God .solomon wrote the book of proverbs as a guide to wisdom and thought the book he reminds us who the teacher and giver of wisdom and knowledge is “the fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge” Proverbs 1:7.  “The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding” proverbs 2:6, “for wisdom will enter your heart; and knowledge will be plesent to you soul; discretion will guard you, understanding will watch over you” proverbs 2:10-11.  It is only seeking knowledge through God that grants us wisdom and confidence.  The problem is that we seem to want to categorize peoples spiritual authority by the amount of education that they have, this is an urge that we simply must resist.  we are all equal inharatents in the eyes of God and he will uses us for the purpose he has created us for formal education or not.  The truly scary thing about giving in to categorizing people in the church is that we run the risk of becoming like the pharaisis and being so concerned with station that we fail to see when God is trying to speak to us.  The other danger is that we start to put our trust not in the bible and God hands but in the hands of our peers, yes the pastor and staff of your local church are your peers. we need to be always thinking and asking God for wisdom, reproving the things said by our leaders against the word of God before we follow.  The spirit is our helper he will lead us in wisdom and truth and guide us away from false doctorin.  We i the body of Christ in this new covenant are called to understand Gods  laws as we follow them.  That doesnt mean that if we don’t understand or agree with something that we simply ignore it or use it as an excuse to disobey God.  What is means is that the spirit is there to guide you through any doubts or confusions, sometimes we need to take a leap of faith and just obey and through that obedience we are given understanding.  “as a result, we are no longer to be children tossed here & there by waves an carried about by every wind of doctorin, by trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitfully scheming but by speaking truth in love, we are all grown up in all aspects into him who is the head, even christ” Ephesians 4:14-15.  One of the keys to this passage is “speaking truth in love” the point being not to divide the body with disagreements but to unit it with truth and love.  when we go about seeking God wisdom on a subject we first have to be honest about our motives.  the only way to here the truth is to have you ears, eyes and ming open to God. Sometimes the answer is that the one who is wrong is you.  God will always give us the truth. there are those who are afraid to question the man speaking from the pulpit, even before God the one who we are ment to have our most intimate relationship with. remember that the wisdom and knowledge are never supposed to come from the man but from the spirit.  the beauty of the Spirit of God is that it is as available to you and me as it is to your pastor.  we are all called to be educated in the Spirit.
